Do people still practicing the dowry culture in India

Our society is same from decades, everyone wants money free of cost. Government employees are being auctioned before marriage, those family which agrees to pay the highest price the guy marry according to that.

I don't consider them men enough who is not using his vocal when it is required. Don't he ever think that all his education is just a waste when he is being auctioned in the market for huge sum. These family don't have self respect,they sounds more similar to beggars or you can say worst then that. Even beggars are far better then them, they beg for their living but on the other case they beg for luxurious life.

But the fault is not of groom side even the bride family is responsible for these tradition. Are we selling our daughter or are we buying groom? I don't understand still in India women are killed for dowry. Still people don't hesitate to pay huge sum. On which basis they agree to pay such a huge sum just to assure themselves that we have played our role in choosing the right guy and family. No matter in future she might be treated as rag or being burnt on the name of dowry.

Nothing is changed,nothing will change..this is our society which contains a lot of toxic people and their contaminated thinking where bride's family will criticized for the rest of their life either for food & decoration in the marriage, less dowry, no scaraments, less educated,ugly looking and so on… still we live to show off infront of this society.
